Kaitlynn brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to Big Gay Energy, thanks to her background in entertainment and arts management. With hands-on experience in video production, she has an understanding of the behind-the-scenes magic that makes media come alive. Kaitlynn’s blend of creativity and insight makes her a driving force behind our podcast, helping to shape the content and build the community that Big Gay Energy is all about.
Her journey into fandom began with Pretty Little Liars, but it was Wynonna Earp that truly connected her with a broader community of like-minded fans.
Big Gay Energy is hosted by Kaitlynn and Theora—two queer media enthusiasts who couldn’t stop talking about their favorite shows, movies, and books, even if they tried. Before we found each other, we both struggled to find anyone who shared our passion for queer media. So, when we finally connected, it felt like destiny. Together, we created this podcast to fill the void we both experienced and to build a community where people like us could come together to celebrate the stories that reflect our lives.
We’re also driven by a shared mission: to increase the visibility of LGBTQ+ TV shows and prevent more queer media from being canceled. Too often, queer stories are cut short before they can fully unfold, leaving our community underrepresented and our narratives unfinished. By amplifying these shows and rallying support, we hope to show the world that queer media isn’t just wanted—it’s necessary.
theora (She/her)
Theora is the analytical powerhouse behind Big Gay Energy, known for her exceptional ability to dissect queer media. She has a keen eye for color theory, often uncovering the subtle visual cues that add depth to the stories we cover. With a background in healthcare, Theora brings a unique perspective to our discussions, offering context and understanding that enriches our conversations.
Her first experience with a fandom was with Orphan Black, but it was Killing Eve that truly captured her heart — we don't talk about that ending.
